Utah Photography (Molly+Family)

Hi! Thanks for visiting my Utah Photography blog!

We photographed Molly’s family at the Nook and Cranny in Lehi, Utah. This cute little guy gave me a run for my money, but I pulled out all the stops and got some seriously cute smiles from this little guy. Honestly, I love the challenge of photographing children and getting them to smile at me.

The honest to goodness truth is getting kids to smile at me at a photoshoot was the only thing that made me smile for five years solid after James died. I would leave my house in tears of grief and come home with tears of gratitude. I learned a lot in those years about myself and about true joy.

One trick of true joy with toddlers is smarties. 🙂 As always I appreciate a cry face as much as I do a smile face, smarties at least give you a pucker face.

I suppose I have a different perspective on child photography. When my son James passed away, I’d walk in the grocery store and see all the two year olds throwing temper tantrums. I remember being jealous of those frazzled moms. All too often I’d see these moms lash out or be short tempered. To me, there wasn’t anything I wouldn’t give to have my two year old throwing a tantrum in the store.

I guess that is why I love those moments when kids are just kids..the good, bad, happy and sad. Be grateful for every moment. Each minute is a gift from God with your babes. That is why I love capturing ALL of my clients and tell their entire story-even if that includes sad babies. A child who is crying is a child who is alive.

Check out our Good Grief Project and what we are doing to help families heal after they lose a child.

I specialize primarily in senior photography and child and Utah family photography but also photograph weddings, engagements and bridals from time to time. If you are looking for a photographer, send me an inquiry and I will be in touch soon!

See what other clients are saying!
